Sveta Kundish & Patrick Farrell
Yiddish Avantgarde in the Jewish Tradition
August 5 Mon 6 p.m. @St. Cristophorus, Tiefurt
Free admission, donations are kindly requested

Farrell's unique compositions, which combine avantgarde and tradition, simplicity and innovation, are brought to life by two renowned musicians. Based on poems of 20th and 21st - century North American, Israeli and European Yiddish poets, the songs paint an intimate landscape of love, hope, joy and loss.
Soprano Sveta Kundish performs regularly in Jewish music projects throughout Europe and, since finishing her training as a cantor, serves as the first female cantor of the Jewish communities of Lower Saxony. Patrick Farrell, accordionist, composer and bandleader, creates music of an extraordinary stylistic diversity. He has recorded more than 50 albums and his tours with various projects have taken him to auditoriums, dance halls and theaters around the world. Kundish and Farrell lead the audience into a world of poetry and music they have been creating together since 2013, in stirring performances characterized by virtuosity and emotional presence.
